Staff Letter

This year has been flying by and as much as I love the summer season, I think we are all ready to move on from the summer heat! With the warmth of summer heading toward the door, cooler weather can move in and I am most certainly here for it.

Fall means all of my favorite things, beautiful outdoor time, football season arrives, Fall and Halloween decor are around the corner and, most importantly, Rock Island Weekend is FINALLY here! I live my year for The Oklahoma Food Truck Championship. 

As much as I love trying all the amazing foods, I find so much joy in walking around the Arts Festival and listening to people talk about their crafts. Whether it's painting, sculpting, making jewelry, raising plants or some other form of creativity, I thoroughly enjoy hearing the passion people have for what they do. So if you are out and about on Rock Island Weekend, my challenge is for you to grab some great food and just go allow people to teach you about their love of creating!

Much like those artists, this magazine is a work of creativity and passion for us and continues to be a great tool for showing off everything unique and wonderful about our town.

So whatever you are passionate about, whether it be cool weather, art, food or something else, I hope you are able to truly enjoy it as the new season rolls in to town!

Livin' Local

We always love our local theater and getting to enjoy the productions they put on, but Lion King Jr. was one of our absolute favorites. The kids who were cast did an outstanding job and my husband, daughter and I couldn't look away!
